Peppermint Stick

Peppermint StickSome things you can’t have too much of around the holidays.  Like tea and peppermint.  Here Keemun and peppermint schnapps are combined in a hot cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Vanilla Vodka
  • 1/2 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 6-8 oz hot brewed Keemun Mao Feng Tea</li>
  • Candy Cane for garnish

Recipe:

  1. In a mug, combine Vanilla Vodka, Peppermint Schnapps, and simple syrup.
  2. Top off with hot brewed Keemun Tea.
  3. Garnish with a candy cane for stirring.

Serves 1

 

Comfort and Joy

Comfort and JoyThe comfort comes from Southern Comfort and the joy comes from tea in this spicy cranberry-tea hot cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups strongly brewed Ceylon Tea
  • 2 1/2 cups Cranberry Juice
  • 1 cup Southern Comfort
  • 1/4 cup Sugar
  • 1 Star Anise
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 3 Cloves

Recipe:

  1. Combine ingredients in a medium saucepan.
  2. warm over med-low until fragrant and hot.
  3. Serve in mugs.

Serves 4-5

 

Tea and Tonic

Tea and TonicThe citrus notes of Ceylon tea pair well with tonic water and lime in this fresh twist on one of my favorite cocktails.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 oz Ceylon Tea Infused Vodka
  • 6 oz Tonic water
  • lime wedge

Recipe:

  1. Fill lowball cockail glass with ice.
  2. Pour in Ceylon Tea Infused Vodka.
  3. Top with Tonic Water.
  4. Squeeze lime wedge into glass and add wedge to glass as garnish.

Serves 1

Santa Baby

If Santa doesn’t leave you the yacht or diamonds you’ve been asking for, maybe he’ll leave you this.  While it’s not a five pound box of money it tastes like a million bucks.  Hennessy VSOP and Keemun Tea Infused Vodka pair up with fresh clementine juice for this yummy cocktail.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 1 oz Hennessy VSOP
  • 1/2 oz Keemun Tea Infused Vodka
  • Juice from Clementine
  • 2 dashes Grenadine

Recipe:

  1. Pour ingredients over ice into cocktail shaker.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into cocktail glasses.

Serves 1

 

 

Christmas Cookie

Christmas CookieWarm and sweet like a fresh baked cookie. I’ve used Assam in this hot tea cocktail, but you can use any good quality plain black tea.

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz whole milk
  • 1/4 oz simple syrup
  • 6 oz hot brewed Assam Tea
  • 1/2 oz Vanilla vodka
  • 1/2 oz Amaretto

Recipe:

  1. pour milk and simple syrup into a mug or tea cup.
  2. Add Tea.
  3. Add Vanilla Vodka and Amaretto
  4. Stir and serve warm.

Sleigh Ride

Sleigh Ride Cocktail

I had to create at least one tea cocktail with Eggnog.  Here’s one featuring Keemun Tea Infused Vodka.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 1/2 oz Keemun Tea Infused Vodka
  • 1/2 oz amaretto
  • 1/2 oz vanilla vodka
  • 1 1/2 oz Eggnog
  • Fresh grated nutmeg

Recipe:

  1. Place ice in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Pour Keemun Tea infused vodka, amaretto, vanilla vodka and eggnog over ice.
  3. Shake vigorously.
  4. Pour into cocktail glass.
  5. Dust with freshly grated nutmeg.

Serves: 1

Churchill’s Tea

Churchill's TeaWhile I don’t know for certain that rumors of Winston Churchill taking his tea with whiskey are true, there is no doubt he enjoyed a good cocktail.  On of my favorite Winston Churchill quotes (and there are many) was directed at Lady Nancy Aster:

 “Lady Nancy Astor: Winston, if you were my husband, I’d poison your tea.
Churchill: Nancy, if I were your husband, I’d drink it.”

Pomteani

PomteaniPomegranate = healthy.  Gunpowder Tea = healthy.  Moderate Alcohol (debated but I’m going with healthy).  That would make this one tasty superfood.

Ingredients:

  • Ice
  • 1 oz Gunpowder Tea Infused Vodka
  • 2 oz Pomegranate Juice
  • 1/2 oz Grenadine
  • 1 teaspoon Pomegranate Seeds (for garnish)

Recipe:

  1. Place ice in a cocktail shaker.
  2. Add Gunpowder Tea Vodka, Pomegranate Juice and Grenadine
  3. Shake vigorously.
  4. Strain into cocktail glasses.
  5. Garnish with Pomegranate Seeds
